Applications for the 2025 Caltech University Summer Research Program are now being accepted. This 10-week summer internship is fully funded for both US nationals and international students. Caltech University’s crown jewel is the Caltech Summer Program. 

Overview of Summer Research Program at Caltech University

This summer program’s goal is to give participants the chance to work on a research project at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) under the supervision of seasoned mentors. Applicants from all around the world are welcome to apply, and there is no application fee. More than 85% of applicants are granted this opportunity, demonstrating the high success rate of the Caltech University SURF Program. We urge new applicants to apply. Economic Gains

The Program Addresses:

  • A $7,950 stipend will be given to participants to cover:
  • Travel and airfare costs
  • Meals and Accommodations
  • Cost of a Visa (if any)
  • Additional Personal Charges
  • The entire cost of the award for international students must be covered by mentors.

As a Summer Research Fellow, what will you do?

  • Project Development: To choose and create a research project, students work with a possible mentor.
  • Submission of Proposals: Candidates draft research proposals that describe their study concepts.
  • Faculty Review: After examining the submitted submissions, faculty members suggest rewards to deserving candidates.
  • Summer Research: During the course of ten weeks in the summer, awardees conduct their research projects.

Research Topics

Qualifications

  • Both U.S. citizens and international students from other countries are eligible to enroll in the program.
  • Only undergraduates are eligible to apply.
  • A solid academic record and a sincere interest in research are prerequisites for admission.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
