Researchers and medical professionals involved in cancer prevention and control are the target audience for the IARC Summer School 2025 in France. In addition to offering an outstanding intercultural and multidisciplinary learning environment, the Summer School aims to foster international cooperation. Through discussion with IARC teachers, knowledgeable foreign visitors, and other participants, this global initiative will assist scholars in expanding their networks.
Overview:
There are two modules in the summer research program. With a primary focus on the examination of cancer causes, the first module, “INTRODUCTION TO CANCER EPIDEMIOLOGY,” will cover the practical application of epidemiological principles and methodologies to various cancer control projects. In the second module, “IMPLEMENTING CANCER PREVENTION AND EARLY DETECTION,” the principles, concepts, problems, and practices pertaining to early detection, cancer prevention, and program implementation will be thoroughly reviewed.
Both modules will include online and in-person learning activities as part of this fully funded scholarship for international students. Live sessions and pre-course individual and group projects will be part of the two to four week online autonomous learning program. The five days in person program will take place in Lyon, France, and will include interdisciplinary lectures, group projects, and hands-on training led by IARC faculty members. It will also include in-person contacts with IARC scientists. There will be site visits and networking opportunities for participants during the in-person training in Lyon.
