Fully Funded AKFC International Youth Fellowship 2025

Canadian recent graduates and early-career professionals have the opportunity to advance their careers with a global perspective through the AKFC International Youth Fellowship. The AKFC fellowship program consists of an eight-month foreign deployment followed by three weeks of rigorous pre-departure training in Ottawa. With the Aga Khan Development Network’s (AKDN) assistance, fellows collaborate with regional organizations in Africa and Asia to carry out initiatives aimed at enhancing community well-being.

Fellows are assigned to one of three streams: Young Professionals in Media (YPM), International Microfinance and Microenterprise (IMM), or International Development Management (IDM). Their placements are based on their interests and skill set and offer practical experience in areas such as media, education, health, and microfinance. The collaborative aspect of the fully funded fellowship program gives participants the skills and knowledge they need to significantly impact their host organizations and communities.

The youth fellow program, including lodging, travel, immunizations, health insurance, and a living stipend cover the majority of expenditures. Fellows acquire priceless experience while working in demanding yet fulfilling settings and promoting sustainable development. Selected participants must make a one-time CAD $1,000 donation to cover program expenses. This opportunity offers a solid basis for global career and personal development.
