Applications for the 2025 Fiction Writers Program are now being accepted. A fully funded trip to Greece will be awarded to the winners. Writers, professionals, and students from around the globe are invited to participate in the week-long Fiction Writers Program at Costa Navarino, Messinia, Greece. Participants will visit Greece for eight days.
Overview of Program for Fiction Writers 2025
International applicants are welcome to apply for the Fiction Writers Program. Fellows will interact with other top writers in the field and participate in workshops and craft sessions throughout the program. There is no application fee, and Oxbelly pays for all participant expenses, including travel and lodging in Greece. This writing program’s goal is to encourage outstanding stories across all genres. Greece’s Program Dates
The program lasts for eight days in Greece. The dates of the Oxbelly Retreat in 2025 are set for June 28–July 6.
What Kind of Work Are You Able to Submit?
Any kind of fictional prose, including short stories and novel manuscripts, is acceptable. We do not accept scripts, plays, poetry, or lyrics.
Qualifications
- Both Greek and foreign applications are welcome.
- Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
- Originality: The work that is submitted must be the applicant’s own, unpublished original work.
- Limitation on Prior Publication: No material submitted may have been published online, in print, or in any other medium before.
- New authors of novels or short stories, including students and unpublished authors, are welcome to apply.
- Any type of narrative in any subject may be submitted by applicants.
