Brief description of the Program

Scientists, artists, writers and other thinkers at Harvard Radcliffe are provided a unique environment that enables them to focus on their research. Participants will be assisted by Harvard’s numerous resources and work alongside people who value creativity, innovation and sharing of ideas and knowledge. With this fellowship, you have the chance to come up with original ideas, use new approaches and network with past fellows who do important work in their disciplines.

Different types of Work

Anyone in a variety of fields such as education, law and business, is encouraged to apply for the Radcliffe Fellowship.

  • History, economics, literary studies, sociology and politics
  • Some of the listed majors are African-American Studies, Anthropology, Architecture, Art History, Business, Cultural Studies, Economics, Education, Environmental Studies, Film Studies, Geography, History, Law, Linguistics, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Urban and Regional Planning, Women’s Studies and many more.
  • Creative Arts
  • Some arts-based activities are Creative Writing (fiction, poetry and nonfiction), Journalism, Music Composition, Playwriting, Film and Video and Visual Arts.
  • These three areas include Science, Engineering and Mathematics.
  • Among the areas, students will study are Biology and Medical Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Mathematics, Materials Science, Physics, Statistics and Applied Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Anyone from abroad is open to apply for the Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship and the common qualifications they must have are:

  • An artist needs to have experience in publishing, exhibiting or performing work on their own.
  • Those applying should not be current doctoral or master’s students, but only in the case where the dissertation has been accepted and the degree is close to being conferred and applicants satisfy the field’s conditions.
  • Those who are selected for the fellowship have shown high achievements in what they do.
  • Applicants should be ready to join a full-year initiative and carry out their projects gradually.
