Overview of the United Nations Fellowship: 

The fully paid three-month fellowship includes the following:

  1. Five weeks of online biosecurity diplomacy: June 5, 2025, to July 5, 2025.
  2. In July 2025, a group project will be made, and in August 2025, it will be shown to the BWC Working Group on Strengthening the Convention.
  3. While the BWC Working Group meets to talk about how to make the Convention stronger, there will be a fully paid five-day field visit in Geneva from August 11th to 15th, 2025.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • People who want to apply for the Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship program must be younger than 35 years old.
  • People who want to apply must be from a BWC State Party that is listed as a least-developed country, a low-income country, or an upper-middle-income country. This is where you can find out if your country is on the OECD list.
  • People who want to apply must have a master’s degree in the life sciences or a similar field from a well-known college or university.
  • People who have degrees in other areas, like the social sciences, may be given extra consideration if they have a strong interest in biosecurity, health security, or disarmament and non-proliferation.
  • Those who want to apply must have excellent spoken and written English. Women are strongly urged to apply for the fully funded fellowship.
