The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has reintroduced its NPO Capacity Building Programme for 2025 which offers essential developmental prospects to South African youth-led organizations. The initiative exists as an ongoing initiative of the NYDA to maintain youth participation in important community development efforts.
Overview
The NPO Capacity Building Programme accepts ninety (90) youth-led organizations nationwide to build social cohesion for active citizenship and nation-building across all nine South African provinces. The training program provides trained materials and templates to ninety organizations throughout their ten-month engagement. The NYDA’s National Youth Service Programme (NYS) implements this program as its main component to enable youth empowerment through actual project implementation.

All participating organizations need to learn about the requirements of NYS norms and standards. These organizations will acquire necessary competencies that assist them in creating projects aimed at advancing education while fostering entrepreneurship along with social assistance and other central youth-focused sectors of South African society. Through this initiative the program directs its focus towards integration of youth who have criminal connections and those with disabilities.
